Heigh-Ho! Heigh-Ho! A Bundting we shall go...

My cousin, Mary, ordered 24 mini Bundt cakes to take to her office and off to work she went. They are the cutest... and the glaze? Well, the glaze is beyond delicious!
These babies make the top of the Shack's Cupcake Charts:
favorite flavors are Butter – Orange.
Heigh-ho-ness!

It is one of my faves as well! Oh, and my Aunt Yola’s too!

Dont be shy and order away!

A Must Try!

Cake!

OMG! This three layer baby took five arduous hours to put together, but I submit, I know now what flavor flutters in heaven. The star struck filling alone took 45 minutes to prepare. This was truly a production!

MGM logo.png
This MGM  (magnificient glamorous gateau) runnaway production included meticulous stirring  and concocting: coconut, chopped pecans, chopped golden raisins, an egg cream mixture and sugar.  Oh, and l'est I forget to mention the boom-boom- pow ingredient: a half of  cup of Cognac!

Suggestion: this is an excellent dessert for any special and decadent dinner.  Feel like a celebrity 'parce que dessert'!

Heads up! Because it is so special, I will need advance notice for this creation! Modesty apart -a Must try!

Monica's Sugarry Delight!

While Tropical Storm Issac was creating a little hustle and bustle down south,  I threw this is little party hat together comfortably nestled in Ocala; Monica's sugarry delight.

Monica is my former daughter in law and she was celebrating her day!  She may be a former daughter in law, but is always a daughter to us as we love her and is the mother of our grandaughter- Alyssa!
With all this said, she wanted a wet cake.  How appropriate! Right? Well, she was gifted with my famous butter rum bundt splashed with an extra dash of a buttermilk glaze to drizzle onto each slice.  It was a hit larger than Tropical Storm/Hurricane Issac!

MONICA

M is for Magnificent, you are a joy

O is for Outgoing, always on the go

N is for Natural, the genuine side of you

I is for Imaginative, full of delightful surprises

C is for Cheerful, you always brighten my day

A is for Affectionate, an excellent character

Monica, you light up my life.

ALYSSA

A is for Angelic, beauty beyond compare

L is for Lovely, warmhearted and tender

Y is for Young, so full of zest

S is for Special, right from the start

S is for Smile, such a delight

A is for Adorable, a loving heart

Alyssa, my cute little angel !

What more can I say!

I Do!

Hi everyone,
Hope you are all feeling better than I am today. My husband gave me a personal gift - a sore throat! UGH!
Still I have baking news. I met a nice and talented person this week which collaborated with me on some wedding cookie ideas. We decided to add fondant on my wedding dress cookies...
And, I like! I like!
Later, Jenny my daughter, forwarded me a cookie with a stick figure design. Well, I fell in love with the idea because it brought back memories of when she was 2 years old and I would create little
t-shirts and t- shirt dresses with the stick figures for her. They are really cute.
I designed a few more figures, one for a proposal, another carrying a bride and a kissing figure with a heart center. I am still tweeking the designs, but I am having fun creating them.
The process includes copying the images on sugar paper and then placing a royal icing finish. All of it is edible even the little silver details.
These are perfect for Wedding Favors and adorable! You can’t go wrong! And besides, different.

Don’t forget I have wedding cake pops individually boxed, as well as, the bride and tuxedo combo .

Take care and keep those ideas coming.

Nancy

Carrota-Cake!

True that I promised Lily I would make her favorite Carrot Cake for her birthday.
Lily works for Juan’s cardiologist, Louis Fernandez, (not marketing or promoting anything, but truly a great Doctor) ...just a nice medical team that take care of his ticker.

Her birthday just happened to fall on,  yes: “Crazy Week.” This famous week in my life was epochal in that just about everyone that I knew was celebrating a birthday.  Unbelievable, but true!

We came home from Ocala on Monday and I still hadn’t caught up with anything when my husband kindly reminded me that he had a visit scheduled at the Cardiologist the next morning.

I hit the ground running at 7:00 a.m.  and 'Voila'! Lily's cake magically appeared, as promised. And, this is what it feels like to be on “Cupcake Wars", heart pounding and  angina pains.  I was just starting to think I would have to share the ticker appointment with Juan.

In the end, my kitchen remained upside down and my house radiated with the scent of 'l'eau du' deliciousness.  The good news is Juan left for his visit with Lily’s birthday cake, in hand.   Done!

(These are the “Smash Cakes” they start at $ 15.00 up to $ 25.00 depending on flavors and decorations.)

A Hoot-ee-nanny for Samantha!

Ahhh...at the request of Jenny, my dahling of daughter, a small group of volunteers rallied in order to throw a party for her good friend Becky;  a "Hoot-ee-nanny" of a Baby Shower.  Yes, it was!

End result: small gathering for Mommy to be, friends and family and the cookies and sweets made the Part-eee a hoot and a holler!

As for favors, I never thought owls could be so cute.

I saw an owl up in a tree
I looked at him and he looked at me.
I couldn't tell you about his size
For all I saw were two big eyes.

Enjoy,

The Color Purple

“I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice it.”
Alice Walker, The Color Purple

This creation is a complete appreciation of the color purple.  I should be finely favored - this time!

My Tia Yola's birthday is on the same day as my Husband Juan, but since I was in Ocala and the week swirled into a crazy tail spin we deferred to a delicious ice cream cake courtesy of her granddaugther... we sang: la la la and it was grand.

Tia, however, threw some old fashioned guilt at me when she asked, "What happened to my Nancy cake"?

So, guilt, guilt and more guilt piled high in layers. Gulp,  I love this person as if she were my Mother.  Back to the drawing board and voila! I came up with a tea time creation. She loves teapots and pearls! A pearl of a woman indeed!

Believe it or not, it's also my Sister in Law, Lily's birthday today! More-a-caking!
Enjoy,
Nancy

Ethan's Noah's Ark favors

Ethan’s Noah’s Ark baby shower in September is coming up. There will be minis, cake pops and an assortment of goodies, but for now these are just a few samples of the party favors. A practice run we might say!

You know the animals on Noah’s Ark were in pairs, right? Well, so are these cookies. I Love them and thank goodness so did Grandmother- to-be  and Ethan's mom!.

.

Take care all and keep those ideas coming.

Side bar: Ralph It was good to see you and thank you for your cake pop order!

Arlenee's Last Fling

Wow! Busy last week, but these are too cute not to share.   My niece, Ana, threw together for her childhood friend a Bachelorette event that lasted three days and each day hosted a different theme. Clever, right?

The first day was called  'Anchors Up'.  The ladies all wore matching T-shirts that had a shot glass on back; adorable.  In keeping with this theme, I made the Nautical Mini Cakes in red Velvet (one of her favorites). I added little tags that read, “Arlenee’s Last Sail before tying the knot.”

The second day was a kind of 'Funeral' which seemed a little depressing, but they all dressed in black with fluorescent colored wigs.  It wasn't so bad. They asked for assorted cake pops. I created them in black with brite drizzle and a little sugar ring with colored bling bling glitter,  And the little tag said “In Memorium of Arlenee’s last Fling”

The third day was reminiscent of  'Pretty in Pink' with Princess Crowns, Pink Pearls, Pink glitter all on her other favorite Guava Minis.
And a good time was had by all!

French fru fru!

Tati my good friend, ordered Minis for her breakfast meeting tomorrow. The Co-workers are coming in from France, so she asked for a little French flag. Later,  I heard one of her co-workers say Eiffel tower. I thought, no way, I don’t have time.  Ah, but those of you who know me just know that  I’m always up for a challenge.  I came up with these little sugar flags and Eiffel towers. The best part about Tati’s order was that she left the flavors up to me. Of course I wanted to do something different from the norm.

Now I needed to dream up another batch of cupcakes. Perhaps, are not too French but very  breakfast.  Well, by-gum-it,  these are the best darn banana, pecan mini cupcakes! They also sport ,  a tiny touch of cream cheese buttercream with crumbled fresh bacon and a drizzle of maple syrup I brought back from Canada.   I tell you, this is the best combination ever,!!! The nutty banana and sweet & salty mix from buttercream and bacon is Fantastic. A must try!

Well the last batch of Minis, I baked while thinking healthy thoughts (not really).   Thanks to my amazing husband who brought me boxes and boxes of Mangos I was able to my world famous Mango Chutney... hmmmm. And finally, I made the most delicious Mango Minis I have ever tasted. These cupcakes are not too sweet at all and are full of mango chunks. OMG! I made a delicious mango buttercream dressing with bits of toasted coconut. YUM. The toasted coconut is crunchy and not sweet, but makes an excellent combo with Mango!

These 2 new Summer Flavors are Excellent and I tell you...boom, boom, pow... you will not be disappointed. You may gain a few pounds, but never disappointed.

I have 4 lbs under my belt.
Thanks,
Nancy
