Jayla's THE Fashionista 16th Birthday @ Kitchen 305

Jayla is fascinated with Designer Betsey Johnson.  It so happens that Jayla’s last name is also Johnson.  Well, shut my mouth wonderfulness!   And so the party was getting started.

Melissa,  of Mocha Shic Events directed this Grand affair for the Johnson Sweet 16 Dinner @ Kitchen 305 in Sunny Isles, Florida.

She did a beautiful job with the tables settings.

I was given a picture by way of  Jayla’s Mom of the cake her heart desired.  Of course, I feel I enhanced on some of the criteria -  bragging rights included.

Added feature: rose cookies (a modern-e touch) to match the cake and serve as party favors

Bright and animated, just like Jayla.  Fashion sense is  written all over her - Miss Fashionista.  I learned a new term: fashionista.
I think I like it!

Shuntice & Leo's Romance the Night Away

This must be LOVE!

Melissa, of Mocha Shic Events, was commissioned to put together Shuntice’s wedding anniversary. This turned out to be anything but an ordinary celebration...

Idea: Shuntice wanted to make sure her husband Leo was surprised. She had Melissa recreate the entire wedding scenario from that marvelous day...from the moment they entered their Hotel room to the romantic ambiance. Wow!

I heard through the grapevine that Leo was moved to tears at her romantic gesture.

This is definitely a good model to follow.  Girls, we need to learn from this!

She ordered a little red velvet cake, but had to have  the hearts.  A dash of silver was on the wish list, so voila... chocolate ganache avec little hearts with their names and silver roses...

Love was in the Air for sure.

B's Party-Gras!

...I was commissioned to confection a Surprise Birthday for Bee's Big day!   I had the privilege of catering another event  for her two years prior... the famous Ying Yang Wedding.

This year the bash would take place in “The Cruz Building;" an amazingly beautiful venue reminiscent  of old world New Orleans decor. As a result, a Mardi Gras Masquerade Theme was born.

The order included everything Mini for this Gala Event. The task was to fabricate a cake environment with cupcakes.

In all, I prepared  300 Minis in 4 different flavors: Guava, Dulce de Leche, Coconut, and Bee’s favorite, Lemon.

Her cake resembled a sea of brightly lit, gold Fleur De Lis   fondant wrapped cupcakes airbrushed in metallic colors with matching glitter. Glitter-fi-cation was the special of the day. It was truly spectacular. All in all, metallic candles were placed atop 50 minis..voila!

I created all of the matching displays and enhanced the set with  Mask cookies in glitter.

Also, the cake pops ordered were all glittered and also fondant masks. Everything edible-licious!

Baby Vince turns ONE!

I can remember baking for Baby Vince's Welcome Baby shower not too long ago.   I can’t get over how time flies; Vince just turned one on Saturday. Vince is the cutest little Sailor man!  I want to pinch and squeeze him...

Thankfully Sarah sent me these pictures of his big day! For whatever reason, I rarely have pictures of  babies with their “Smash” cake.  I guess any First Birthday parties can be chaotic. Thank you Sarah fro remembering to send me this beautiful image of Vince with his smash cake.  I made this one especially for him.

Sarah artfully decorated the table with Vince’s baby pictures in Adirondack chairs and bunny.  So creative! I had to share these photos because of the beauty in detail and meaningful touches.

Sarah says the event was perfect in every way and she loved the chocolate cupcakes filled with ganache.
As for me, I’m happy she’s Happy.

Little Mermaid Shower for Lisa and Marc

Lisa and Marc’s “Little Mermaid” Baby Shower
Naomi, a Pensacola scholar was charged to organize a simple, but elegant baby shower for her sister & friends. It was a simple request: a small cake for twelve and some star fish cookies as  favors.

The Theme:  Baby Mermaid

Oh my goodness, do I love it when I get a theme with full throttle on creativity. Well, I ran with it.

Ombre buttercream..., nope this is not a fondant ruffle kind of gig. I enjoyed making this one; only the shells are fondant and baby too.

The delight is All edible, but who would want to eat it? Tres cute!
She loved everything! And, I submit, the little macaroons I gave her as my “Thank You” gift were a hit as well.

Have a great labor day weekend - Be safe!

Two weekends before labor day:

Sometimes it's not all mini's, popsticks and cupcakes.  You would think that these collisions mostly happen on red letter weekends - sadly, they happen any time.

This is the story as we lived recently.. I will now paint a picture for you...little drama added for interest...

Scene One: There was a kind of young kid with a car that perhaps partied late the night before and may have fallen asleep at the wheel.

Scene Two: Stopped at a light was a truck. We were idling patiently behind it waiting for the light to change to green.

Scene Three: There was a  kind of young kid with a car that perhaps partied late the night before that may have fallen asleep at the wheel and forgot to stop. He hit us all at a high speed ...

(seemed like the speed of the Concord when were slammed)

Scene Four, Five and Six:

The good news: Injuries were limited to back and neck.  We are alive to tell this story. It was a long ride home!

Nancily's Cupcake Shack wishes everyone a safe and happy Labor Day Weekend!

Basic, Burlap, Barbecue, Baby Shower - Naydee & Christopher

Naydee and Christopher are having their first baby.  Boy or Girl? It’s a surprise! Naydee requested  a neutral cake for her Shower. Her husband is a “Chef” for world renowned Miami Children's Hospital with a flair for Barbecues.  They decided on a Picnic Bash Baby Shower; simple and back to basics thematically speaking.
My forever question is why is simple not so simple for me?  Why should this challenge be any different?

Naydee had a craving for a Vanilla cake on top with raspberry filling. Hubby chose dark chocolate for the bottom.
The tippity top of the cake was covered in a sumptuous white chocolate ganache under a  lovely fondant.  The bottom was covered in a dark chocolate ganache. Simple?  I think not!
In addition, they ordered “salted caramel minis. ” These babies  have homemade caramel inside and caramel butter cream with a touch of Kosher salt on top. Very delicious... (my Jenny’s favorite!!!)

... And I need to mention the couple are my niece Ana’s friend, so they got a little special treatment (cariƱo.)
Ana set up the table for them.

...And, Red Velvet cake Pops

Beautiful Mom & Handsome Dad are going to be awesome brand spanking New Parents soon.
