Jacky's Toy Story - Storybook Birthday!

Janetzy and Julio’s daughter, Jacky, is turning a toy trotting BIG 5.

Janetzy, planned for the sky to be the limit for Jacky's big day; she wanted to ensure that Jacky's birthday day was the BEST EVER!  Her goody order was Super Sized, with emphasis on BIG, from the get-go. Aside from pops, cakes and more sweets, she planned for a bounce house with matching decorations and even made some of her own.

This I know, Janetzy is a true artist and uber-creative.  Aside from her dandy handiness,  she has a little side job making girly shoes with matching hair bows - truly unique! Did I mention that she holds two jobs and is going to school? Whew!  Kudos to her !

As a young mother and still a kid at heart, she placed all her energy into the bestest Toy Story Birthday for Jacky! EVER!!!

Now lets talk cake! This is a first! My very first colossal 3 tier cake. May I add, this one was labor intensive and was more likened to a nightmare! I confess,  I am not in a big hurry to do this again. Then again, I can't resist a project like this at least once.

Janetzy requested Fondant!  WE decided on a butter rum which now rates at the top of  the Nancily line of requests.  Popular indeed! I submit, this is a double whammy -cake-wise; Mom gets a shot of rum and the children slow down after a slice. It's a Win!

*LOL (laughing out loud).  I really don’t put any significant amount of liquor in the mix, but its certainly a viable school of thought.

Below, you can see that  I used burlap to showcase the goods.  Reason being that these burlap runners are this years design for my tables at the Ocala Thanksgiving. Very cute!   An inexpensive idea gone Chic! I plan to add brown satin pintuck table cloths as well at my event.  Just an idea if you are planning your Turkey day.

Adrian's 19th!

Migdy's son Adrian is turning 19! Time flies! I remember when he was born. Nothing like a baby turning 19 to make me feel some years crawling on.

What I do know is that Migdy is a last minute planner; she plans and changes her mind to infinitude before a scheduled date or event. Why should Adrian's birthday be any different!?

For Adrian's 19th she planned two birthdays, one for family on a Saturday and the other for his friends as a tailgate party item on Sunday.

Her initial order included 20 pops as there were ten guests.  Hours later, I received a hysterical call with an additional  small cake and 15 more pops as the number of tailgaters had grown to  a whopping 40!

By Sunday she added 24 cupcakes in U style; its all about the U!  The numbers keep changing! Later we added another 6 inch cake and 15 cake pops.

Like any tasty mascot, the Ibis sported a yummy Butter Rum with Cream Cheese Butter cream with Royal Icing on a gum paste circle.

The cake pops were all about:  Dulce de leche, Chocolate, Vanilla and Orange  The mini cupcakes were about Guava and Dulce de Leche.

U time is now over and tomorrow I leave for Ocala to spend some boo-time making Halloween cookies with my darling grand daughter, Alyssa.

Next week it is all about a “Toy Story" birthday for Jacky organized by Janetzy.

Its all about the:

Anthony Alexander's Sister, Rebecka, Celebrates her 1st!

Laura contacted me in order to place a short order for Rebecka's first birthday.  After a brief sample tasting at my place, full of enthusiam, Laura and her husband doubled the entire order.

Later, she added to the mix a Butter Rum Minnie Mouse Cake. Mini Mouse was laced in a rich buttercream icing, all  except for the decorations,  e.g. ears, bow and mini minnies.
The final order included Minnie Cake Pops in three flavors, hence the three distinct colors -- Mini Minnie cupcakes in Guava and Dulce de Leche. and Minnie cookies as party favors.  The colors were made to match her bright and colorful invitations in pink, lime green and  purple. .

Laura made these beautiful centerpieces

In all there was quite a bit of preparation and big brother, Anthony Alexander, was ready and able to be the number one assistant.

Anthony always wanted a baby brother; begging and requesting his parents for a playmate.  Then came Rebecka and the family was worried he would object, but as it turns out he is Rebecka's steadfast protecter and friend.  A great time was had by all!

Glam, Glam for Amy and Tina - Bridal Shower

Nancily's Party Central Presents:
Ingredients to the Glam Glam Garden Tea Party Bridal Shower:

  • cookies for Tina's bridal shower.

  • Theme: Vintage - gowns;

I became animated and creatively inspired.  What better than a glam gown?  I was ready.

I  baked 60 cookies, yet to be decorated when Amy called.  She decided to change the theme at the last minute and decided never mind to the gown idea. Her school of thought shifted and she decided that gowns are  more appropriate for a wedding; tea cups and tea pots are better for their shower.

Quickly, I pulled out some frozen dough, teapot and tea cup cookied cutters, I rolled up my sleeves and got to work.

My sweet Lord! My brain rumbled into overload. After some thought, I submitted, "Why not have both?"  I became highly motivated at the prospect of this new concept.

Long story short,  I re-designed the gowns into garden party dresses, with roses and tea pots/cups to match the dresses.

Happy me,  I finally got the chance to design the cake dress of my dreams. Everything matched perfectly!

Now, I need to wait.  I sincerely hope Amy and Tina like their shower package.

I may recreate this for my next birthday; I love it.

Last ingredient: the cake is “Champagne” delicious!

Suggestion: Serve with Pink Champagne  to make it complete!

A Curiouser and curiouser tea time...

Not quite a Mad Tea-Party: In the Wonderdland story Alice  becomes a guest at a "mad" tea party along with the March Hare, the Hatter, and a very tired Dormouse who falls asleep frequently, only to be violently woken up moments later by the March Hare and the Hatter. The characters give Alice many riddles and stories, including the famous 'Why is a raven like a writing desk?'. The Hatter reveals that they have tea all day because Time has punished him by eternally standing still at 6 pm (tea time).

Unlike Alice's Adventure in Wonderland, this event will be filled with Mad fun and celebrationAll the refined elements are beginning to settle into an artful place... a work still in progress.

Building a cake...step one.

Will keep you all posted as to the final chapter from Nancily's Adventure in Wonderdland!
