Ocala bound on the 14th and in the stay-cation mode untiI January 2, 2013!
The plan: cookie trees and Italian Creme Cupcakes/ Cakes. As for the trees, they are comprised of stars that graduate in sizes, carefully stacked until...Voila!...it looks like a Christmas tree.
These goodies can be made ahead of time and can serve as beautiful edible centerpieces.
Excited me! I just ordered the cutters. If all goes well, next week is slated for samples; if I
don’t go crazy with the 3 orders I have pending.
I have selected 'Cardamon' flavored cookies, which I
love! car·da·mom/ˈkärdəməm/
Noun:
The aromatic seeds of a plant of the ginger family, used as a spice and also medicinally.
The Southeast Asian plant (Elettaria cardamomum) that bears these seeds.
Good idea? These trees coupled with the Italian Creme Cake are going to fill our bellies and the holiday spread!
Well, this Italian crème cake is not for the ordinaire palate. This artful dodger holds
a special filling that is rich and filled with delicious-ness! The secret ingredient are a combination of Cognac, chopped pecans,
coconut and some more chopped golden raisins. This Italian crème cake is a hit - every time.
Eureka! A thought came to mind: why not make cupcakes filled with this special
filling? Oh my, it is a genial idea! Even more it is so easy to transport, so easy to eat and
no plates and forks needed. The great solution for Pecan & coconut lovers around the world.
These mini Turkey cake pops traveled their way to Ocala. Mini apple pies, made to order and Mini pecan pies as well...
One ins Ocala, our welcoming committee met and greeted us with great enthusiasm at the front door which was especially nice since this holiday includes our outdoor residents as well...
A tip from me to you!
Culinary tipster time: Pay attention to this diddly! I used already made dough for the pies; I made the apple filling and used a mini cupcake mold. Voila! Cuteness. Superbness! Give it try!
A the Little Pumpkin cake!
This pumpkin cake was born from a mini bundt cake mold. I then whipped out a spice pumpkin recipe for the cake and then drenched it in spiced rum simple syrup; operative word is DRENcH! I joined the two bundts to make it look like a pumpkin. Ahumm! I used Swiss pumpkin meringue butter cream for the filling and a pretzel rod driven through the center to hold both pieces together. While at it, I just happened to have on hand some caramel sauce so I drizzled it on top. Like?
*These were my way of saying Thanks to my clients that placed tall Thanksgiving orders. I placed them in a clear box. A gift of Just deliciousness - like icing on a cake!

This cake weighs over 60 pounds. I
can barely pick her up. This baby serves between 90 to 100 salivating sugar lovers.
Funny. Ehemm, peculiar... how my cousin Ana,
started by saying, “I need a little cake for 10.” It sort of turned into 10 X 10; closer to 100. Hence, I baked one
layer and the next day the head count went a up again. Therefore, I extracted another layer from my faithful oven. I thought, I was done and another layer came to play. Dag-gum-it!
This is the cake that literally “Grew”.
It happened one night; a party was born. Every event has a story and this is ours.
This is our story of hope, celebration and gratitude.
This is a story about a tall task and 'thee' most fantastical, one of a kind, Yellow Submarine cake- Ever!
Thanks to Nancily, a dream has come true and a star has been born!!
It was a warm Florida night. Alicia was in her kitchen, the stove was hot and the smell of re-fried garbanzo beans floated into those familiar spaces that invite culinary house smells to linger. The door bell rang with nervous anticipation, time and again, until all the guests amassed.
Bottles were opened. Glasses kissed and toasts to the moon and the stars were lifted high. Five couples cheered on and two birthdays were celebrated that night.
It was a night of green palms crisply scented with that smell of of grass we all know. The breeze tipped the air with a touch of chlorine. The pool offered a glistening, happy light while little white boxes lined up around the circumference of the pond to embrace the reflection of the water with natural sparks and low burning flames.
We laughed, no doubt it was the result of the fire in our bellies ignited by smoke drunken cigars big and small.
Melancholy was the last to arrive; bitter sweet memories surfaced; only a couple of years before we were collectively disheartened on a solitary and comfortless November day. Our lives wheeled soundlessly for the longest time. Grace was gone.
Birthdays came and went. My 50th went quietly and unnoticed; all other birthdays were packed away like the winter clothes you store in a typical Florida closet, shorn and dark. That night between the breeze and the banter, in the falling quiet, an idea was birthed; a motive to celebrate life: baby boomers, Beatles and a Yellow Submarine!
The Star of the Main event: The evolution of the Submarine Revolution!
Images made from icing.
In the beginning:
48 eggs, 12 cups of flour and 4 pounds of butter, cream cheese butter cream and a drenching of coconut rum...

...'So we sailed on to the sun, Till we found the sea green, And we lived beneath the waves, In our yellow submarine,
We all live in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine, yellow submarine, We all live in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine, yellow submarine.
And our friends are all aboard, Many more of them live next door, And the band begins to play.'...
Shuntice and Melissa of
MOCHASHIC EVENTS have big plans for Lea’s 8th birthday party.
It's all about Soccer coupled with her very favorite color Purple! I predict this
young lady is going to have a bountiful bit of fun.
Shuntice ordered soccer ball cookies by the platter and some more as
party favors with Lea’s name.
I threw in some 24 Soccer minis as an added goodie since I knew the bash was going to be a big one!
Details. Details: The cake is vanilla and underneath all that grass in
another layer of cake. The green green grass is a luscious buttercream and the long blades of grass are made
of Royal Icing with a dash of flavor; like candy! YumYum.
I think they are on to something really good!
I think God gets upset if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice it.
