The love of My Life: My Granddaughter, Alyssa.

The story of my life is predicable. Once again, I spent weeks pouring over ideas as to how I was going to make 'thee' cutest Easter cupcakes -of all- for Alyssa’s class.  You see, before I lived in Miami and now I live in Ocala.  I am happily now able to spend a lot more time with Alyssa, my fabulous Grand daughter, baking and playing Grandma .

I dedicated a good part of four days in the making of these cutest little cupcakes. When it was all done Alyssa exclaimed, “Lela Nancy! You went overboard on these.” She made me smile from bunny ear to bunny ear.

My heart felt pinched and I gloated,  “Alyssa, these are so darn cute; your classmates are going to be jealous that you have a Grandma like me! And, should someone want me for their Grandma, you let me know!” We naturally laughed.

I was scheduled to deliver the gifting goodies, cupcakes and Alyssa to class in the morning. Her words lingered like a happy beat,  "I went overboard.”  As planned, Alyssa and I stopped at the school office to drop off the Chick cake pops and cookie Basket. The crowd expressed their appreciation as to how beautiful these were.  I looked at Alyssa’s face as she was smiling and head held high we proceeded to her classroom.  A little guy comes up and looks in Alyssa’s box and says, “Where’s mine? Don’t I get one?” I was flattered at his enthusiasm.  Soon to follow, the teachers also approached us and expressed the same “cuteness.” As we walked away I could see Alyssa’s smile grow bigger.

We put everything down in class and her teacher Ms. Patterson gave me a warm hug.

Alyssa by now is fully beaming and I added, " Oh, and I'm bringing more cupcakes for Alyssa’s Birthday on Monday;  wait until you see those.  I just had to lay the groundwork to go overboard again; I chuckled with a sense of pride.

When I arrived home, I found a message from the school office staff requesting an order of bunny cupcakes.   Happy Easter Baking for me! Yeay!

I guess I may have gone a little overboard, but there isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for Alyssa. Everything is made with LOVE!

Playing with Fairies in Ocala

Who knew I would find fairy babies in Ocala?  Having some time on my hands, I decided to visit magical mushrooms that serve as umbrellas, pink rattles, flowers that birth a fairy or two and soft spoken petals...this is what I found.  What say you?

Anthony's 19th Birthday!

My first dock in Central Florida! At last, the dust is settleing from the unpacking and I completed my first commission since my relocation to Ocala!
What a breath of fresh air!
My pleasure to be a part of Anthony's 19th Birthday!

From Nancily to all...

Letter from Nancily to all,

I’m going through so many mixed emotions while unpacking and feel as if  I am unraveling myself. LOL. If you can make any sense of that!
I have such joy spending more time with my granddaughter, finally. And, I am enjoying that at least I am making her class adorable “Heart” cake pops in Strawberry and Red Velvets. As for my little 2 year old Grandson, Konstantine, I am going to bake him little Heart cookies for his Day Care.

Thank goodness, I find I still miss the baking and creating part of my life, even though I have about 50 boxes of stuff to unpack from the move. **Tip to everyone who owns any type of dwelling, start  uncluttering and minimizing, I have never gotten rid of so much odds and end in all of my life.  Who knew 35 years later so much could fit into one house.

Funny story, I had lost some jewelry about 15 years ago and while cleaning and packing I found it all in a little Jar. Surprises can be found everywhere in any corner.

On another note, I said goodbye to friends and family in Miami.  I am missing them so very much. I now have set my sites to my beloved Ocala, Summerfield.  I am eager to get started.

The truth is, I have several family members and friends living in Ocala.  The good news is I already have a job to bake for a Baby shower in June and I will leave the rest to God since only he knows what is in store for me. Maybe I can bring that Miami flare here. Fingers crossed.

Well, take Care everyone and you know my number should you need ideas, advice or a referral to another baker in Miami; feel free to email me. I am always eager to share.

If you are ever in the area visiting Mickey & Minnie, stop by.  I guarantee, you will enjoy the visit. Ocala is very “Green” and beautiful.

Warm regards,
Nancy
