Rambling cups...

Nancily's Notes:

One crazy week last year, the Nancily team rolled up their sleeves and got busy to the tune of many an order.

Melanie's beautiful wedding and rehearsal dinner

"Bee's Wedding" at Red Fish at Matheson Hammock

Drew's birthday! Ahoy! Pirates

Mani's baby shower

With the help and artful touch of Martica, Lilia and Mary the venue of a beautiful wedding was born.
Lilia and Mary(my cousin) did the flower arrangements (thats what they do) and Martica, planned and organized the whole wedding event!

And...Ying Yang cups

The beautiful cupcake stand was created by Mary with a splash of orchids. This display makes anything look good!
The little orange cake was for an orange and blue baby shower theme.

From the Desk of Nancily:

Another batch of sweetness worth mentioning from the past.

From the Desk of Nancily:

Ana, my fun and jokester of a niece, requested "Princess cupcakes" for her kick ball teammate, a guy friend.  So, why not, I  threw in some crowns, and wands for the occasion. As per her request: red velvet and Guava fixings (the guava cups are the ones with the wands).

I made the birthday boy a Giant cupcake and crowned him with his initial, so he could feel like a "King" instead of "Queen".

Side bar: I used Sugar Paste instead of Fondant, they are a bit fragile, but hold better with the heat.

Ta-ta-ta!

Elizabeth's Cake at Two.

Today, I have been back tracking to a place where cups, mini cakes and pops just didn't make it to a blog in our family.  I found it appropriate to revisit Elizabeth's second year simply because I found it to be a charming exchange.

Here we find Elizabeth's birthday cupcake. She was ever so happy with this little 6" cake...

Hmmm...wondering what her reaction will be to the industry standard 'gateau'.

This cake is just as cute as Elizabeth! It has a special pearl cat collar with a special tag.  This one is the "Big One"  from ear to ear is 14" wide and the head is 12" and the depth is 4" tall. It serves 45-50. And its heavy.  There were dimples and smiles, that's Elizabeth!
What a difference a cake makes.

Ivan Loves Ale and Edgar's Birthday!

Cousin Ana has fallen behind at the blogging keyboard, but while I was nursing a terrible cold Nancy was in the kitchen- apron on and ready for creativity.

Last weeks exploits were abundant starting with these mini cakes.  The good folks that follow the Shack request them custom made to their occasion.  For example a very Metro-male customer ordered  3 little cakes for his girlfriend in order to celebrate their 1st year Anniversary together.  He took the time to pick out his favorite colors, but insisted on a   bouquet of cake pops in lieu of flowers.

Gentlemen, take notes; an example to live by!
He said his girlfriend would appreciate them better than flowers because she loves sweets!

Here is a little personal interest story, in a nut shell, that I found ever so charming. . .On said evening, just 24 years old; Ivan ready to celebrate and mesmerize, picked up his  girlfriend, Ale's  order. “Cake pops” bouquet, in hand, he presented her with her sweets and made their way to  dine at the Red Fish.

FYI: we had prepared a cake box with the 3 mini cakes.  Including a box gift that quietly hid a beautiful amazing Michael Khors gold watch as well.

At the proper moment, Ivan delivered one mini cake at a time, the first with his name, the second read 'Loves' and the 3rd , her name Ale (short for Alexandra). I understand the event “Blew her away:)) and a romantic evening was had by all.

Nancy, Shack owner and cake artist said, 'He made my day... I love when I get good feedback.  I told him to keep checking blog his cakes will come out soon.'  Gotta love Ivan's swagger!

In all, the order included 3 individual cakes, one with Ivan's favorite color, blue, and his name. The second in her favorite color, Orange, with “Ale” short for Alexandra, and then something romantic...I had to bring the feeling together somehow.   'It was the hardest thing I have ever had to dream up. I didn’t finish until 2:00 a.m., says Nancy. 'But this is what she came up with. Fingers crossed'!

And now for Edgar's Birthday cake! Edgar is in his 30”s, but who is counting and why not add some dazzle to his years!

Next is Graduation Gala for Columbus and Belen. Wait until you see that! And then a “Butterfly” themed baby Shower..

In the horizon is the Alexandra and Erica party planner's bridal shower.

Sit tight...more sweets for the sweet are coming down the pike!

The Creative Crunch is on!

The crunch to produce is on and I am loving it.  I think I have a big graduation coming up for May 20; appointment today to work it out, cross my fingers.

Mary my cousins birthday is here! The BIG “60” which is the new 50 right? What can I say, she picked this cake out of a book. Of course, I had to add a few more things like the flying bumble bees and a few more lady bugs and flowers, its unique, like her, made with love.

She requested a Pineapple Bundt cake. This one has brown sugar, it has to be good!  And, I made the matching little Mini bundt cakes with lady bugs and bees to match. These, I may add,  I made in my favorite, Orange sponge cake with orange zest, hmmmmm.  We will have the “little mini Guava cupcakes” as well, because they are so darn goooooooooood.

Notice how many times I say mini and little to ease my conscious when I taste everything.  If we say mini then calories can never be maxi: "Correctemundo"!

Forgot to mention, she loves the cookies, so she gets a little basket she can share, I think she’ll share...you think? Ehemmmm?

In addition, Melanie ordered a “Trio” of Mini Cakes for her Husband, Kirk. His favorites are Chocolate Peanut Butter, Pumpkin, and Guava. If you look closely, you can tell which is which. Happy Birthday Kirk! Here you go, 3 mini cakes! I suspect he won't be sharing! Enjoy!

The crowning jewel of the week is for Martica, Proud grandmother of Princess Chloe who is turning “3”. Who knows nothing about the “Bling Bling” of life like her grandmother).  Martica  Ordered a Princess cake, cookies, cake pops and Princess crowns  for girls/ Pirate ship cookies for boys.  The Cookies have “C” for Chloe and lots of sparkle. The cake pops are Vanilla and chocolate all have little tiny crowns and glitter, lots and lots of glitter.

Nancilys always gives a little gift when someone orders over $100 therefore, Gloria and I gave her a little basket with the cookie spelling out her name this way she has more cookies to munch on, and a special 4” Princess cookie in gold with bling just for her...butterflies and cake pops included.  All for a Special Granddaughter and special Grandmother!

Los Quinces de Beatriz part 2!

Beatriz! Pops!

These are some of  cake pops for the 15th bday this week. Along with her large order there will be an 8" cake and 100 minis, all red velvet which makes everything "look" very nice.  Those are going to be worked on today and tomorrow for Sat.  Can't wait to show you the little "sugar crown" I made for cake!  Surprise!

The cake pops with the stick up are easier to put on any stand, the cakes pops with the stick like lollipops you need to place in bowl ,  or basket with styrofoam or filling to hold pops upright. Its easier to decorate with the ball on the bottom for large orders and people don't tend to pull pop out of styrofoam from the ball itself, which leads to having them come apart.
Ugh!
The fish bowl with 20 cake pops are my gift. As most of you know who has ordered from me before, I always give a little something with large orders  as a "Thank You".

Quince Cake para Beatriz!

Everything on this cake is edible! Can you believe it!
My American side wanted to go Hot Pink & Zebra print, but my spanish side kept thinking  Traditional. I'm glad I went Traditional, I enjoyed doing this one.  I get to practice and hopefully I'll be around to do my Grandaughter's 15.
What I enjoyed the most was having time to change my mind a hundred times until I got inspired.
