The story of my life is predicable. Once again, I spent weeks pouring over ideas as to how I was going to make 'thee' cutest Easter cupcakes
-of all- for Alyssa’s class. You see, before I lived in Miami and now I live in Ocala. I
am happily now able to spend a lot more time with Alyssa, my fabulous Grand daughter, baking and playing Grandma .
My heart felt pinched and I gloated, “Alyssa, these
are so darn cute; your classmates are going to be jealous that you have a Grandma like
me! And, should someone want me for their Grandma, you let me know!” We naturally laughed.
I was scheduled to deliver the gifting goodies, cupcakes and Alyssa to class in the morning. Her words lingered like a happy beat, "I went overboard.” As planned, Alyssa and I
stopped at the school office to drop off the Chick cake pops and cookie Basket. The crowd expressed their appreciation as to how beautiful these were. I looked at Alyssa’s
face as she was smiling and head held high we proceeded to her classroom. A little
guy comes up and looks in Alyssa’s box and says, “Where’s mine? Don’t I get
one?” I was flattered at his enthusiasm. Soon to follow, the teachers also approached us and expressed the same “cuteness.”
As we walked away I could see Alyssa’s smile grow bigger.
We put everything down in class and her teacher Ms.
Patterson gave me a warm hug.
Alyssa by now is fully beaming and I added, " Oh,
and I'm bringing more cupcakes for Alyssa’s Birthday on Monday; wait until you see
those. I just had to lay the groundwork to go overboard again; I chuckled with a sense of pride.
When I arrived home, I found a message from the school office staff requesting an order of bunny cupcakes. Happy Easter Baking for me! Yeay!
